Pogoń Szczecin played a charity friendly match against Italian side Udinese Calcio in support of club legend Robert Dymkowski. The game, which ended in a 1-1 draw, took place on Saturday, 26 September at the Florian Krygier Municipal Stadium. The majority of the net income from organising the event will be directed towards Dymkowski's fight against amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), which he was diagnosed with in 2023.
The club emphasised that the bulk of the proceeds from the match with the Serie A representative would go to support the fight against the illness of the legend of the Pride of Pomerania. For fans unable to attend the stadium, a symbolic 'brick' ticket was also available. The live broadcast was provided by CANAL+, which stated, "The broadcast on CANAL+ will begin at 5:00 PM with a special pre-match studio. The first whistle is scheduled for 5:30 PM." Robert Dymkowski is an absolutely key figure in Pogoń's history. He made 347 appearances for the club, scoring 120 goals, which puts him joint-first with Marian Kielc on the club's all-time top scorers list. The match against Udinese also marked a return to the stadium for coach Kosta Runjaić, who managed the Szczecin side from 2017 to 2022 and is now in charge of the Italian team.
