Pogoń Szczecin is struggling with problems. The summer revolution of new owners of Pogoń raised doubts, and the first five rounds only strengthened this feeling. Behind big words, there were no big moves, and instead of big successes, there are big problems after a big defeat, which Górnik Zabrze inflicted on Portowcy in Szczecin on Sunday. Pogoń owner Alex Haditaghi and vice-president Tan Kesler, after the unsuccessful end of the previous season, decided to rearrange the team in their own way. Although coach Robert Kolendowicz wanted to keep players like Rafał Kurzawa, Kacper Łukasiak or Joao Gamboa or Wojciech Lisowski and add new ones to them, the management decided otherwise. With some, contracts were not extended, others were sold or transferred to the reserves. The effect? Today, Portowcy are weaker than they were in the spring of 2025, when they started preparations with a strike, and then lost three colleagues. The acquisition of players from the second Turkish league or the Romanian league or from the Polish relegated team did not look like powerful moves, and after five rounds, it is clear that in this case, appearances did not deceive. And what's worse, the blocking of Efthymios Koulouris' transfer had a fatal effect on the Greek player, who has been a shadow of himself for two matches. But coach Robert Kolendowicz warned that this team would need time, but it's hard not to wonder if the passage of days or weeks will help in any way. So Pogoń Szczecin must mobilize to get out of the crisis. Otherwise, it may be too late.
