Pogoń Szczecin is a club that has recently been unable to shake off the label 'zero titles'. New owner Alex Haditaghi is trying to change this. On September 16, Pogoń announced that Robert Kolendowicz had lost his job. In the last round, Pogoń lost 0:1 to Korona Kielce after a goal by Dawid Błanik. Now Pogoń has a new coach, Tomasz Grzegorczyk, who will lead the team on Sunday in a match against Lechia Gdańsk. Grzegorczyk was Kolendowicz's assistant since January 2025. Before starting work at Pogoń, Grzegorczyk worked at Arka Gdynia, where he achieved good results, but ultimately lost his job. Haditaghi explained why he ended his cooperation with Kolendowicz, saying that as club owners, they have a duty to provide the coach with the best possible tools to achieve success. Kolendowicz was a Pogoń player from 2010 to 2013, and then worked at the club as an assistant coach of the reserves or as an assistant to Kosta Runjaic. Pogoń is currently ninth in Ekstraklasa with ten points and trails the leading Wisła Płock by six points. The new Pogoń coach will make his debut on Sunday in a home game against Lechia Gdańsk, which will take place at 14:45.
