Pogoń Szczecin is strengthening its squad by signing Hussein Ali, a right-back who joined the club from Heerenveen. The transfer took place on September 18, and Ali is a 26-time representative of Iraq. In an interview with Weszlo.com, the player explained the background of his move to the 'Portowcy'. He noted that Pogoń is a big club where he can develop his career. Ali had the opportunity to speak with Linus Wahlqvist, which helped him make the decision to transfer. At Heerenveen, he did not have as much playing time as he wanted, so he was looking for new opportunities. In Pogoń Szczecin, he sees a chance for regular play and development. So far, he has played 16 matches for Pogoń, scoring two goals. His presence in the team will certainly strengthen the club's defense. Ali is also in the Iraqi squad for the upcoming World Cup, where he will face Norway, France, and Senegal.
