Pogoń Szczecin intends to sell Mor Ndiaye, but the Senegalese midfielder's disastrous performance for the reserves could complicate finding a buyer. In Saturday's fourth-tier match against Świt Szczecin's reserves, which the Portowcy lost 0-4, Ndiaye made an error leading to a conceded goal in just the third minute.
Ndiaye in defence
In Saturday's clash, however, the reserve team coach deployed him as a centre-back. The decision backfired, with Ndiaye's mistake handing the opponents an early lead. This was his first appearance of the season, after playing just four minutes in the Ekstraklasa against Cracovia.
Context of the reserve loss
Despite being the reserves' first defeat this season, the team still tops their league table. The starting lineup featured several players with first-team experience. Alongside Ndiaye played the suspended Filip Cuić, young scorer Patryk Paryzek, experienced defender Wojciech Lisowski, and goalkeeper Antoni Fojucie, previously the backup to Valentin Cojocaru.
After the match, a social media comment summed up the performance. Adam Kaczmarek wrote: "Mor in form."
Transfer plans and first-team situation
The club had hoped for interest in Ndiaye from clubs in Croatia and Cyprus, but after Saturday's display, the chances of a transfer may diminish. Meanwhile, the Pogoń first team, following Saturday's 2-0 win over Wieczysta Kraków, has a record of one win, three draws, and one loss in its last five matches. Goals in that win came from Darko Churlinov and Jordi Sánchez. The team now faces an international break, with the next league test not until November 21st at home to Śląsk Wrocław. Currently sidelined are Nikolaos Botis and Rajmund Molnár, and the full squad status can be checked on the squad page.
The club does not officially comment on individual reserve team players, but it is clear Ndiaye has no place in the first-team coach's plans for the coming months.
